Bipartisan bill seeks to tackle anti-competitive behavior from China.
On Tuesday, the Senate passed a new round of legislation aimed at fighting what it views as anti-competitive trade policies from China. The bill was passed with a largely bi-partisan majority of lawmakers in a 68-to-32 vote. The House of Representatives will now receive the bill and determine if any changes are to be made.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer expressed his approval of the Senate’s backing of the bill saying, “When all is said and done, the bill will go down as one of the most important things this chamber has done in a very long time. … We can concede the mantle of global leadership to our adversaries, or we can pave the way for another generation of American leadership. That is what this bill is about.”
